Hey lovelies,

It's been far too long since I've done a swatch spam post! Here are some unposted Essies: the first batch is in natural light/sunlight.

Essie Sweet Talker Swatch

Sweet Talker, 2 coats

The formula on this is unbelievably good, super opaque and just the right amount of thickness to glide onto the nail. Must reswatch this asap because this swatch is rubbish!

*

Essie Fair Game swatch

Fair Game, 2 coats

Fair Game is a touch too frosty for my taste, but I can't fault the formula, two easy coats.

*

Essie Coat Azure swatch

Coat Azure, 2 coats

Another smooth two coater, although again, this could do with a ridge filler, it wasn't at all forgiving of my peelies!

*

Essie Pink-A-Boo swatch

Pink-A-Boo, 4 coats

I love this one in the bottle, but couldn't get into it on my nails. It's sheer and prone to streaking. It would probably look better on unstained nails!

*

Essie Where's My Chauffeur? swatch

This one was streakier than anticipated, I was quite disappointed after all the hype from other bloggers when it first came out.

*

Nice is Nice, 3 coats

This warm purple is so pretty! It could have used an extra coat however, as it was quite thin and streaky.

*

Essie Knockout Pout swatch

Knockout Pout, 3 coats

A gorgeous bright shade that dries to a satin finish. No complaints here!

*

Essie Mojito Madness swatch

Mojito Madness builds up nicely in three coats, but dear god it stains! Double up on base coat for this one.

*

Essie Armed & Ready swatch

Armed and Ready has a great formula, lovely and opaque. Perhaps too opaque! That gorgeous copper shimmer is very shy and I suspect it is being drowned by the opacity of the base.

*

Essie Topless & Barefoot Swatch

The formula on this one is thin and a little prone to streakiness, it works best when you 'float' each coat on. It could've used a ridge filler too, but I really love the colour.

*

The following were taken in my lighting set up (using daylight bulbs), the first one was with my older camera and the remainder with my new one :)

Essie French Affair Swatch

French Affair, 3.5 coats

This is such a beautiful colour. Like Topless & Barefoot, I found French Affair to be streaky and needed to float on each coat. I like the colour, but it's not unique enough to be worth the effort, in my collection at least.

Essie Ole Caliente Swatch

Essie Ole Caliente Swatch

Essie Ole Caliente Swatch

Ole Caliente, 3 coats

This super saturated tangerine creme is gorgeous and covers nicely in three coats.

*

Essie Sand Tropez Swatch

Essie Sand Tropez Swatch

Essie Sand Tropez Swatch

Sand Tropez, 3 coats

One of my favourite nudes ever! Sand Tropez is a little watery yet manageable and I can't say no to that putty creme goodness anyway.

*

Essie Braziliant Swatch

Essie Braziliant Swatch

Essie Braziliant Swatch

Braziliant, 3 coats

And the last shade for today! Thanks for sticking with me :) Braziliant has an average formula, not too thick, not too thin, nice and opaque. The pink shimmer is subtle and adds nuance more than contrast.

Essie is available at Farmers and selected pharmacies. Not all of these shades are available in NZ stores but they're pretty easy to find on Ebay and Amazon.
